On December 9, Grossi announced that the protective zone around the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant could start operating in the near future.

Deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Vershinin noted that Russia trusts the expertise and knowledge of the IAEA in matters related to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
