In connection with the Christmas speech, party chairman Magdalena Andersson (S) and Mikael Damberg (S), economic policy spokesperson, held a press conference where they presented, among other things, an upcoming initiative in the Riksdag's finance committee regarding a gas and electricity bill emergency.

The party also demands that the government put measures in place to stop the excess profits of the electricity companies and that Sweden should show increased leadership within the EU to solve the energy crisis.
