On the day Japan declared possession of a 'counterattack capability', which means the ability to strike enemy missile bases, China mobilized an aircraft carrier flyer and staged an 'armed demonstration' in the Western Pacific.

The Japanese government announced that a fleet led by the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning passed through Okinawan waters and passed south into the Pacific Ocean yesterday (16th).

China's carrier strike group consists of six ships, including the Liaoning, three missile destroyers, one frigate, and one fast combat support ship, Kyodo News reported.

In addition, China's state-run Global Times reported that in the past, the Liaoning warship fleet consisted of one 10,000-ton class 055 destroyer in the carrier fleet, but this time it has increased to three ships, and it is the most powerful combination ever for the Liaoning warship fleet.

The Liaoning warships sailed south from western Kyushu, passed between the islands of Okinawa and Miyako, and entered the western Pacific Ocean, Japanese media reported.

In May, the Liaoning ship stayed in the Pacific Ocean east of Taiwan and south of Japan for about three weeks, conducting more than 300 fighter and helicopter sortie drills. There is also an analysis that China's maneuvering of this aircraft carrier is a warning message to Japan in that it has decided to revise the three major security documents containing content such as reinforcement.

The Global Times emphasized the fact that the aircraft carrier group was maneuvered "on the day Japan announced its plan to equip a preemptive strike missile that can be used to strike China out of full defense (defense can be exercised only when attacked)."

The newspaper reported that Chinese military expert Song Zhongping said, "In the face of Japan's continued attempts to revise its defense strategy and expand its armaments, the People's Liberation Army must increase combat readiness to deal with possible contingencies."
