The Ballet Academy has had the premises in the Pink House since the 1980s.

However, the lease agreement with the municipality has been limited in time.

Now the agreement has expired and the dancers are forced to leave the premises at the turn of the year.

The Ballet Academy has previously directed criticism at the municipality for being promised premises in Väven - but then not getting a place.

The pink house will be empty during the spring.

The dance teachers question why they are not allowed to use the premises during that time.

- We have known for a long time that we will lose the Pink House.

What we want from the municipality is support and goodwill and that they can let us stay here and give us the opportunity to find better alternatives, says Emelie Boman, dance teacher.

The municipality: Can no longer rent out the premises

The Ballet Academy has approximately 2,500 people participating in their activities each year.

Now it may be forced to adapt the operations and the number of courses.

The Ballet Academy is feverishly looking for new premises.

It has already been decided that Vasaskolan, which is located opposite Rosa Huset, will be converted into a high school.

The pink house may then be needed as school premises.

- We are going to rebuild and expand the Vasa School and we need more space for the students.

That is our primary task, says Karin Isaksson, head of the technical office.

The municipality also claims the right of possession, which means that you cannot sublet for any length of time because the tenant can then legally claim that it has the right to stay.

- We cannot have temporary agreements for any length of time and the Ballet Academy knew that.

Folkuniversitetet has other premises that they can be in and we have advised them of other premises, says Karin Isaksson.
