According to Reuters, Musk, who claims to support free speech, froze the Twitter accounts of nearly 10 journalists on the 15th, including reporters from CNN and the Washington Post.
According to the Washington Post, when Twitter shut down the accounts, it neither provided warning to the account owners nor explained it in the first place.
The day before Twitter shut down the journalists' accounts, it abruptly changed its policy on sharing "real-time location information" and shut down the @ElonJet account.
The account has been using public flight data to share the location of Musk's private jet.

After that, Musk also conducted a poll on Twitter, asking Twitter users to vote on when to restore the blocked account.
Some 59% of those users voted for restoration "now".

Earlier, Melissa Fleming, under-secretary-general for global communications at the United Nations, said she was "deeply disturbed" by Twitter's suspension of journalists' accounts.
