Faced with the spread of the corona after the quarantine was eased, China is struggling to prevent a medical collapse ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday next month, when a massive migration of 1.4 billion people will take place.

In particular, some regions have entered an emergency medical posture similar to wartime.

The State Council's joint epidemic prevention and control organization, in its notice on corona prevention and control in rural areas, demanded that rural epidemic prevention and hygiene services be thoroughly implemented during the Lunar New Year period.

China's rural population is close to 500 million, accounting for 35.3% of the total population.

The notice included stockpiling essential medicines and rapid antigen test kits, sending additional doctors to rural areas, and strengthening health monitoring of residents.

It also included the introduction of medical personnel who retired within the last five years to expand the medical workforce.

In the case of China's Henan Province, local media reported that it will operate a first-class medical response posture equivalent to wartime readiness and eliminate public holidays for health workers in the province by the end of March next year.

Local media also reported that the director and medical department workers at the medical institution had to maintain a 24-hour shift system.

Wu Zunyou, a Chinese infectious disease expert, recently analyzed the spread of infections in China, predicting that China would go through a third stage of infection spread, Hong Kong Myeongbo reported.

Looking at the timing of Wu Zunfox, the first stage is the current stage when infections begin to spread in cities, the second stage is when the number of infected people increases in rural areas after the Lunar New Year (January 22), and the third stage is when workers who visited rural areas returned to the city. It is the later period.
