The Jordanian News Agency, Petra, quoted the Public Security Directorate as saying that it mourns “Colonel Abdel Razzaq Abdel Hafez al-Dalabeh, deputy police chief of Ma’an Governorate, after he was shot in the head while he was dealing with riots that were being carried out by a group of vandals and outlaws in the Husseiniya area.” in Ma'an Governorate.

And she added, "As the Public Security Directorate mourns Colonel Al-Dalabeh, it affirms that it continues its work to preserve the security of the homeland and protect its citizens, and we will strike with an iron fist against anyone who attempts to attack lives and public property and threatens the security of the homeland and the citizen."

And the Public Security Directorate stressed that “while ensuring the protection of freedom of opinion and peaceful expression, it will deal, in accordance with the provisions of the law and using appropriate force, with anyone who commits riots and vandalism, wherever they are, and will not allow criminals and vandals to take advantage of this circumstance to harm the lives of citizens and intimidate them.”

The Public Security Directorate had announced that an officer and a non-commissioned officer were wounded by gunshots while they were dealing with vandals who staged riots and protests in the area.

The Directorate confirmed that they were taken to the hospital, while they are under treatment, while the security forces are still continuing their work in dealing with outlaws in various regions of the Kingdom, and will not allow them to implement their plans to undermine the security and stability of the homeland.

The Directorate warned everyone to stay away from the criminal and subversive acts that some incite, stressing that whoever commits such acts will be arrested to receive a deterrent punishment.

The Directorate warned against publishing any information except those issued through it, as publications were monitored by people who fabricate incorrect and inaccurate news, with the aim of stirring discord and inflaming the street.
