DRC: supporters of Félix Tshisekedi organize themselves in anticipation of the 2023 presidential election

One year before the presidential election, the ruling party and its allies are organizing political meetings.

While awaiting the session of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS) in a few days, the Democratic Rally of Tshisekedists (RDT) opened its first congress on Thursday, December 15, with the aim of nominating President Félix Tshisekedi as candidate for a second term.

They were a few thousand supporters gathered Thursday in the large hall of the Aqua Splash complex on the first day of the congress of the Democratic Rally of Tshisekedists (RDT), appendix of the UDPS.

Among them, executives from all the provinces.

These meetings convened to prepare for

the December 2023 election

 first reappointed Me Sylvain Mutombo, in his late forties, to the presidency of the RDT party.

Deputy André Mbata, First Vice-President of the National Assembly and representing the Head of State, asked congressmen to support the candidacy of

Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo

in order to ensure him, he said, a comfortable majority. and that he continues the patriotic fight for the Congolese.

We must allow him to put in place his vision for an emerging Congo,

 " added François Muamba Tshishimbi, former presidential candidate in 2011.

This Friday, the participants, including ministers and former companions of the late

Etienne Tshisekedi

, will have to speak.

But the tone is already set, the congress can only decide in the direction of the party leaders.
