The report says that the US authorities have a need to purchase up to 3 million barrels of sour crude oil produced in the United States.

According to the ministry, the delivery is scheduled for February 2023, RIA Novosti writes.

This will be the first oil purchase for US strategic reserves since the Joe Biden administration began using them this year to stabilize market prices.

On October 19, Biden said that the American side would continue to empty its strategic reserve and the country's Energy Ministry was ready to put another 15 million barrels of oil on the market.
