A 36-year-old woman is suspected of having stolen large sums of money from a nonagenarian living in Guitrancourt (Yvelines).

The suspect, who pretended to be a life assistant, was arrested and placed in police custody on November 15 in Mantes-la-Jolie, reports 78 Actu.

It was the bank of the old lady who launched the alert several months ago, intrigued by suspicious movements on the account of this 93-year-old woman.

An apartment, checks…

An investigation was then opened.

The gendarmes quickly identified a woman who gravitated around the victim.

This thirty-year-old, who took advantage of the vulnerability of the nonagenarian, was notably bequeathed an apartment worth more than 100,000 euros.

She also cashed nearly 80,000 euros in checks.

In total, the damage is estimated at 210,000 euros.

According to our colleagues, the mis en cause will be tried next September by the Versailles Criminal Court for "abuse of weakness".

The accommodation and her savings account, where she deposited the stolen money, were seized.
