Serbian President

Aleksandar Vucic

has appeared in a nationally televised press conference announcing that his cabinet is submitting a request to NATO Forces in Kosovo (KAFOR) to deploy Serbian soldiers.

That is Vucic's response after the latest events in Kosovo and Metohija following

the arrest of a Kosovar Serb police officer in Mitrovica.

The Serbian president has described Pristina's gesture as "reckless", which is why he has made the decision to address a request to the KFOR commander asking for the return of members of the army and police to Kosovo in accordance with security council resolution 1244 from the ONU.
