The Revised Special Measures Law was approved and enacted at the plenary session of the House of Councillors to expand relief for hepatitis C victims through the administration of blood products.

Regarding the relief of hepatitis C victims by administering blood products such as "fibrinogen", the Special Measures Law was enforced in 2008, and after going through the trial, benefits according to the symptoms are paid.

Currently, 12 million yen is paid to victims of fulminant hepatitis in which symptoms worsen rapidly, the same amount as victims without subjective symptoms. We are planning to raise it to the same 40 million yen.

In addition, since there are victims who have not claimed benefits, it is also included that the claim deadline, which is January 16 next year, will be extended by five years.

The revised Hepatitis C Relief Special Measures Law was passed and enacted by a majority of votes at the plenary session of the House of Councillors on the 10th.

The revised law will come into effect this month.
