The choir includes about 40 children aged 7 to 10 years.
Last year, the Lucia group was even larger, but several students with a different religious faith than the Christian one dropped out during the rehearsals.
- Some parents were not comfortable with the children's participation because lucia is associated with Christmas, so this year we have been clear that the arrangement will not be connected to any particular religious faith, says choir leader Jörgen Persson.
The motto is hope
- When the days barely dawn up in the north, Lucia comes with hope for brighter times.
That is the motto we follow, completely without connections to a particular religious faith.
The children should dress neutrally with glitter and lights and the child can be either a boy or a girl.
