Ann Kajson Carlqvist's fee will be increased in two steps - from SEK 71,500 this year to roughly SEK 89,000 next year to land at SEK 125,000 in 2024.

The increase with a total of 75 percent is justified by the fact that she is too underpaid today.

- She has the greatest responsibility in the municipality for a budget of four billion and four thousand employees, then she must be replaced on par with that.

She doesn't do that today, says Venzel Rosqvist (M), chairman of the Remuneration Committee.

Two new municipal councillors

It is the politicians in the Remuneration Committee who put forward the proposal, which will be presented to the municipal council on December 19.

In the proposal, two completely new municipal councilors with responsibility for business and democracy will also be appointed.

In addition, the length of service for four board chairmen shall increase, while the length of service for two other chairmen shall decrease.

- If you work more, you should be paid more and vice versa.

It is therefore not about a fee increase, but about the politicians getting longer working hours, says Venzel Rosqvist.

"Small amount of money"

In total, the changes mean that the municipality's costs for politicians' fees increase from SEK 9 to SEK 14 million.

- Trelleborg has a very good economy.

We are making a surplus this year of approximately SEK 100 million, so this is a small amount of money in the total pie, says Venzel Rosqvist.

Ann Kajson Carlqvist herself is not involved in the remuneration preparation and what she herself thinks of her new remuneration is unclear.

SVT Nyheter Skåne has sought her for a comment, but she has not returned.
