The fuel price and not the snowfall will take a toll on Skellefteå's snow removal money

With a snow-poor spring and early winter, there was a chance to meet the snow removal budget for the first time in many years.

November, for example, saved Skellefteå municipality approximately three million kroner because there was so little snow.

But then it is instead this year's rampant fuel prices that cause it.

- If we hadn't had price increases for diesel and so on, we would probably have made it.

Now the forecast is that we will go 5-5.5 million kroner over budget anyway, says Mikael Lindholm, head of Gators and parks at Skellefteå municipality.
