Prime Minister of Latvia Krisjanis Karins expressed confidence that it was the Baltic countries that suffered more than other European states from the consequences of the sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia, but they continue to insist on increasing sanctions pressure on Moscow.

According to Karins, it was the Baltic countries that showed by their own example that “there is nothing to be afraid of”.
Meanwhile, in November, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas argued that inflation and high energy prices in Europe had nothing to do with the EU sanctions against Russia.
