As stated in the message on the website of the Polish border guard, the Polish authorities signed an agreement with the contractor - the company TELBUD - to build 199 km of an electronic fence.
A contract worth more than 373 million zlotys ($82 million) was signed.
It is noted that the new electronic barrier will cover the entire land border with the Kaliningrad region of Russia, with the exception of the Vistula Spit, where electronic devices have been operating for several years.
In November, the head of Poland's ruling Law and Justice party, Jarosław Kaczynski, threatened to build a permanent fence along the border with Russia.
