As Ringhals 4 is still closed for repairs, Svenska kraftnät has now signed an agreement with Rya power plant at Hisingen in Gothenburg.

The idea is that this should have a price equalizing effect and strengthen the electricity system.

- We are doing this to strengthen the electricity system and reduce the risks in the difficult situation Sweden is in, says Daniel Stridsman, Business Manager Heating and Cooling at Gothenburg Energy.

Among other things, it is intended to reduce the risk of local power outages in southern Sweden.

And it is fossil fuels that will cover the loss.

- Yes, it is 100 percent.

Normally we run on oil, but in this agreement with Svenska kraftnät, we will run on Norwegian gas.

In the situation that has arisen, we unfortunately have to rely on fossil fuels, says Daniel Stridsman.
