Asked about the issue on the program

La France Bouge,

Jacques Trottier, president of Labeyrie Fine Foods, assures him: there will be foie gras available, but it will be more expensive.

"There is less foie gras produced in 2022, that's obvious. But we have decided to make sure to keep all of the available for the end-of-year celebrations", explains the president, at the microphone of Europe 1. "And therefore, consumers who want to have fun with Labeyrie can consume it, provided they do not wait until the 24th afternoon to do their shopping", quips Jacques Trottier.

+ 30 euro cents per slice

"But as with all food", there will be an increase in the price of foie gras, he notes.

"Like other foods, foie gras is sensitive to changes in raw materials, packaging, transport costs. But I want to put this increase into perspective because, on a slice of foie gras, we will be on an increase of 30 cents by the end of the year", explains the boss of Labeyrie Fine Foods.

"So, we have to put into perspective the impact that it will have for consumers who will above all want to have fun. I think they will make this effort on this pleasure that they want to preserve.
