An impressive accident.

On Wednesday, around 2 p.m., a construction crane tipped over and collapsed on houses under construction in Ouistreham (Calvados).

Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

But the man who "remotely controlled the crane was shocked," said the manager of the company that operates on this site to the weekly Liberty Le Bonhomme Libre.

The incident caused major damage, both to the crane and to the accommodations affected.

For now, the exact circumstances of the events have not yet been determined.

An investigation has been opened by the police.

“The crane fell when we started it again in the early afternoon.

It had not been used since the beginning of the week, ”assures the manager of the construction company.

The structure, 25 m high, was put in place six months ago.

Its safety and assembly were then checked.

According to the manager, this incident could be linked to acts of vandalism that occurred last weekend.

“We found, after the collapse of the crane, two pins on the ground.

Were those bolts removed this weekend as well?

It's a hypothesis," he said.
