Working meeting between the Senegalese and French governments near Paris

Senegalese Prime Minister Amadou Ba is in Paris, accompanied by a large delegation for a Franco-Senegalese intergovernmental seminar this Thursday, December 8.

This is the fifth edition of this institutional meeting between the two countries, after the previous meeting organized at the end of 2019 in Dakar.

No less than ten members of the Senegalese government are accompanying Prime Minister Amadou Ba.

Aïssata Tall Sall, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Félix-Antoine Diome, Minister of the Interior, Oulimata Sarr, Minister of the Economy, the Ministers of Infrastructure, Agriculture, Higher Education and Sports.

Organized at the Château de Champs-sur-Marne, near Paris, this intergovernmental seminar is a "

 unique framework for discussion and decision-making

 " between the two countries, according to Paris, and the opportunity to "

 reaffirm the privileged nature of the Franco-French bilateral relationship -Senegalese

”.

This meeting will focus on the theme of youth, “

 in the continuity of the

Africa-France summit in Montpellier

”, we say to Matignon.

The sensitive file concerning migration

Several agreements should be signed.

Five roadmaps have been selected, notably on education, defense and security, mobility and

migration

.

This last file is sensitive.

The French Minister of the Interior, on the move, will be represented by Sonia Backès, Secretary of State for Citizenship.

A visit by Gérald Darmanin to Senegal, planned for November, was finally postponed.

Amadou Ba, appointed Prime Minister in September, will then be expected before the Senegalese deputies on Monday, December 12 for his general policy statement.
