Rescue intervened on Wednesday in a sports store in the L'Atoll shopping complex located in Beaucouzé, near Angers (Maine-et-Loire).

They were called in the morning because of a suspicious smell.

Unsuccessful investigations

Firefighters from the Angers rescue center went to the scene around 10:30 a.m.

They proceeded to evacuate customers from the establishment before getting down to checking the premises.

Despite a meticulous operation, their searches yielded nothing.

Firefighters were unable to determine the origin of the mysterious smell.

They also don't know why some people suffered from discomfort at the same time.

The store was able to reopen its doors to customers at the end of the morning.
