This is the epilogue of the midterm elections in the United States where a final seat of senator was at stake in the State of Georgia.

It is won by outgoing Democrat Raphaël Warnock.

Raphaël Warnock

's victory is short, it came on the evening of

this second round

between the two African-American candidates.

As often, it was the Democrat who started by taking the lead thanks to the early votes before it all evened out.

Republican

Herschel Walker

even came out ahead at times as the count went on, but the overwhelmingly Democratic urban counties in and around Atlanta ended up making the difference.

Above all, the former American football star failed to convince black voters.

, he's also not getting the scores expected in traditional Republican strongholds.

Raphaël Warnock will therefore be the senator from Georgia for the next six years.

And that's no small thing in such a contested state.
