A 14-year-old boy has been indicted for complicity in attempted homicide after the stabbing of a schoolboy in Sarcelles (Val-d'Oise), the Pontoise prosecutor's office said on Tuesday.

The minor was placed under judicial control.

Another minor arrested in connection with this case was placed under the status of assisted witness.

Last Friday, around 5:30 p.m., at the exit of his establishment located in Sarcelles, a 13-year-old schoolboy was stabbed in the abdomen, according to a police source.

The teenager was taken to Necker Hospital, but his life was not in danger.

A 4th grader, he arrived at the college shortly after the start of the school year, after being the victim of an attack in his previous establishment, according to a source close to the investigation.

A rivalry between neighborhoods

"The perpetrators fled when a sports teacher arrived on the scene," said another police source.

The attackers came in groups, some preventing the victim from fleeing.

The hypothesis of a brawl against a backdrop of inter-neighbourhood rivalry is favored at this stage of the investigation.

The victim had been assaulted a few months ago in Stains, a town in Seine-Saint-Denis near Sarcelles.

She had taken revenge by striking in turn one of her attackers who came from the Sablons district in Sarcelles, detailed the source close to the investigation, recalling that these rivalries "have lasted for decades".

Two teenagers killed

In addition, in recent weeks, two teenagers were killed during fights between rival gangs in the 17th arrondissement of Paris on November 11, and in Coignières (Yvelines) on November 27.
