Sharjah Municipality: 10 behaviors that are prohibited from practicing on green spaces

Sharjah Municipality confirmed the intensification of control over green spaces in light of the beautiful winter weather that the emirate enjoys, in which quiet and beautiful sessions abound on green spaces in various areas of the city, as these places are considered an attraction for all families and members of society to enjoy and sit.

In this context, the head of the city's appearance control department, Jamal Abdullah Al-Mazmi, confirmed that the municipality is intensifying its monitoring and awareness-raising role for the public while sitting on the green spaces by organizing continuous inspection tours to ensure compliance with laws and instructions and distributing educational leaflets to urge not to practice any negative practices that distort the public appearance in particular. Putting the waste in the places designated for it and not throwing it on the ground, pointing to the allocation of more than 60 inspectors to perform this role on the green areas and some beaches.

The head of the city’s appearance control department explained that there are 10 behaviors that are prohibited from being practiced on green spaces, which are: throwing waste or leaving it on the ground, damaging or vandalizing any public property, barbecuing and setting fire, playing ball on the green surface, taking animals, destroying green spaces or flowers. Using bicycles and motorbikes, and their use is limited to the places designated for them, smoking shisha, raising the sounds of recording devices and the like, camping or sleeping in parks and public places without a permit authorizing that.

He pointed out that the municipality is keen to create an ideal atmosphere for residents and visitors in the emirate, deal with all transgressions or negative behaviors, and take all administrative and legal measures against them, to enhance the civilized and aesthetic appearance and achieve happiness and satisfaction of the public.

He also noted that the municipality receives all observations and reports through the call center at 993, which receives public calls around the clock.
