The man, who is from Västerbotten, was arrested on November 23 on probable cause on suspicion of having raped and tried to kill a woman at the Grand Hotell in Strömsund.
Prosecutor Emil Tiberg is now requesting an extension of the detention to investigate the crimes.

One rape must have taken place the same weekend in Strömsund, and the other at the beginning of the year in Umeå.
