The large wave of migrants puts pressure on the states along the border with Mexico.

The problems are many and the journey across the border is often life-threatening for the migrants.

Many die out in the desert and it is often difficult and time-consuming to identify the victims who are harvested along the border.

As the death toll continues to increase, the coroners have thousands of unsolved cases to work with.

Gregory Hess, coroner, shows SVT's USA correspondent Stefan Åsberg a long line of boxes lined up in a truck.

- When you see it from the side, it doesn't look like much, but from the front you can see that there are many boxes, says Gregory Hess and points to the boxes where the remains of over 600 people are stored.
