The court has targeted the companies Trump Corporation and Trump Payroll Corporation, which are part of the Trump Organization.

The charges concern that the Trump Organization was involved in avoiding benefit taxation for senior managers who had access to rent-free apartments and luxury cars.

According to the court, the tax frauds must have been directed from the top management of the companies.

According to District Attorney Alvin Bragg, it's all about greed and cheating.

- For 13 years, the Trump Corporation and the Trump Payroll Corporation got away with a system that gave high-ranking executives benefits while hiding them from the IRS to avoid paying taxes, Bragg says according to NBC News.

Trump: A witch hunt

Now the company is expected to be fined up to 1.6 million dollars, corresponding to just under 17 million Swedish kronor.

Donald Trump, who himself has not been charged, has appealed the verdict, saying the prosecution is conducting a witch hunt against him.

But according to prosecutors, Trump, who was not present during the trial, was fully aware of the tax scheme, something the former president and the company's lawyers deny.

The other day, Donald Trump suffered another legal setback.

Following a ruling by an appeals court, he can no longer block the Justice Department's investigation into his handling of thousands of documents — many of them classified — that left government offices and were found in a raid at his Mar-a-Lago Florida residence.
