The US military said on Tuesday that an Iranian Revolutionary Guards navy boat came within 150 yards of US warships in the Strait of Hormuz, but the situation was ended after audible warnings and the non-lethal use of lasers.
A US military statement stated that the accident occurred on December 5, during a routine transit operation in international waters.
Commenting on the incident, the statement considered that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy is behaving in an unsafe and unprofessional manner in the Strait of Hormuz.
Reuters news agency, which broadcast the news, did not provide an Iranian comment on the US statements.
