“If the cold comes, then a situation may arise when our consumption will exceed the production of electricity, since in the region of the northern countries and the Baltic countries there is now less electricity than it used to be,” TASS quoted her as saying.

This will not only result in an increase in the cost of electricity, the Prime Minister stressed.

“Even worse, there will simply not be enough electricity, and we will be forced to make planned interruptions in its supply,” Kallas said.

Earlier, Kaja Kallas said that Estonia no longer receives 1,000 MW from Russia, and several large power plants are not operating in the region, so the country has two options in the short term: short-term shutdowns or saving and regulating electricity consumption.
