Blekinge air force's own Facebook page is an example of where dissatisfaction is expressed that this year's Christmas tree flight was not visible over Ronneby.

"Thank you for not showing up in Ronneby.

Stood and froze for a long time with the daughter.

Too bad", is one comment.

Dissatisfaction is also expressed in the Facebook group "Positivt för Ronneby".

"Many of us were disappointed in the square who heard the F17's Christmas tree fly past out of sight west of town", is one of the comments.

Changed flight route

Helene Nyberg, communications manager at Blekinge air fleet, F17, comments on the criticism and why the Christmas tree formation was not visible over Ronneby.

- A flight route can be changed at short notice and this year's Christmas tree flight has not flown over Lund, Alvesta, Växjö or Ronneby due to the weather.

When it's too cloudy, we don't fly there, partly for safety reasons and partly because we can't be seen from the ground anyway.

We strive to carry out the Christmas tree flight as planned, but flight safety always has the highest priority, says Helene Nyberg.

Fewer planes

Karlskrona and Karlshamn, on the other hand, belonged to the municipalities where the Christmas tree flying was seen, with five planes, fewer than planned.

- It was also because the weather was not good enough and we took flight safety into account, says Helene Nyberg.

In the discussion on social media, understanding is also expressed that the route had to be changed due to the weather.

And among the comments there is also appreciation from the places where this year's Christmas tree flight was seen.

- It's great fun and it feels incredibly fun to work with the Christmas tree flight and take part in all the happy cheers, says Helene Nyberg.
