A wild boar's head was placed on a bench, in Saint-Maurice-de-Cazevieille, a village in Gard, denounces One Voice, in a press release.

"Beyond the cruelty of this act, the total lack of respect for the killed animal and the shock that the sight of an abandoned boar's head generated among passers-by, especially children, this act constitutes a criminal offence”, deplores the animal protection association.

One Voice says it has written to the town hall, the French Office for Biodiversity and the prefecture.

“Just for the abandonment of this animal body part on the public highway, one can incur up to two years of imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 euros, points out the association.

If in addition the regulations on hunting have not been respected…”

The town hall lodged a complaint with the gendarmerie.

“What happened is not normal, confided David Guiraud, the mayor of Saint-Maurice-de-Cazevieille to

Midi Libre

.

I don't endorse it at all.

I am 99.99% sure that this is not an act of a village hunter.

Moreover, it has been a fortnight since the wild boar has been hunted here.
