Wall Street Journal: US secretly reduced the range of HIMARS transferred to the APU

In September, it was reported that the Ukrainian authorities were requesting additional weapons from the United States, including long-range missile systems.

As specified, the requirements of Ukraine include, among other things, tactical ballistic missiles ATACMS with a range of about 300 km. 

CNN has also previously reported that the US is unlikely to supply Kyiv with long-range systems.

According to John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, the United States explains the refusal to supply Ukraine with long-range weapons by unwillingness to further escalate the Ukrainian crisis.
