The head of state presented the award to the winner of the nomination, after which Taranenko made a speech in which he thanked his colleagues and citizens of the Russian Federation for supporting Donbass and the volunteer movement.

“We are doing a lot, this award is really proof that we are on the right track,” said the volunteer.

He noted the merits of a large team - the people's squad, volunteers, volunteers, the popular front.

“Such guys as Sergey Samokhin, Evgeny Melnikov, Vladislav Tanasiychuk, Vitaly Dunaytsev, Dmitry Mezentsev, Nikolai Stepanov and many, many, many more others,” said Taranenko.

The President then stressed that the word "volunteer" has a lot of meaning.

“That is, a person who does something useful for others of his own free will, this is the essence, the core of the whole movement and each of you.

Thank you very much.

Happy Volunteer Day!”

Putin said.

The President also called the support of volunteers participating in the special operation in Ukraine and their families especially valuable.

In October, Putin signed a law introducing a unified system of compensation for harm caused to the life or health of volunteers, including when providing medical care to those suffering from diseases that pose a danger to others.
