Destabilized by an investigation targeting him,

Cyril Ramaphosa

can count on his political family.

The South African president is expected to be supported by ANC MPs on Tuesday December 6 in Parliament.

Party leaders announced after

their meeting on Monday

that they would vote against opening impeachment proceedings during the debate on the report implicating the head of state.

“This decision is the result of a long day of intense and frank debate

,” admitted Paul Mashatile, the ANC's general treasurer.

According

to this investigative report

published on November 30, Cyril Ramaphosa is suspected of having hidden more than 500,000 dollars, undeclared and originally cloudy, in the sofa of his Phala Phala farmhouse, thus breaking several laws.

In the interests of the country and the ANC

A fringe of the party wanted the report to be purely and simply rejected, but this option was not retained, a sign that the supporters of Cyril Ramaphosa are not all-powerful.

The ANC recalled that the president must be accountable and collaborate with all the investigations in progress.

The party will not give him a present, but he considered that it was in the interest of the country and of the ANC that the president continue to govern.

His resignation was not mentioned.

Withdrawn since the publication of the investigation report, Cyril Ramaphosa must return to business.

On Tuesday, he will participate in his first public event after a week of isolation.
