Reporters Without Borders (RSF) said on the 5th (local time), "I am concerned about the recent verbal offensive and discriminatory measures by President Seok-Yeol Yoon of the Republic of Korea against the public broadcaster MBC."

RSF, headquartered in Paris, France, made this claim in a statement posted in English on its website on the same day, calling for "withdrawal of discriminatory measures against MBC" and "resumption of daily doorstepping suspended indefinitely."

RSF added, "President Yoon's actions can threaten the public's right to information and lead to harassment of journalists."

Cedric Albiani, director of RSF East Asia, said: "The head of a country should not, under any circumstances, decide which media can cover the activities of the head of state, how they do it, or what questions are appropriate."

“Journalists, who play an essential role in democracy, should not be blamed for asking questions that are difficult to answer,” he said.
