It was in the summer of 2021 that two minors allegedly entered into a marriage-like relationship.

The police report was made after the girl who became pregnant applied to a childcare center in the southern county.

The girl was in her early teens at the time and the boy a few years older.

The children's parents are now sentenced to a year in prison each for allowing the marriage between the children.

According to the verdict, the circumstances indicate that the children married on their own initiative, but according to legislation that came in 2020, it is a crime for parents or other relatives to allow marriages between minors.

As part of the evidence, there are pictures from both the engagement party that took place in another European country, and the wedding celebration that took place in the county.

The convicted parents admit that the children got engaged, but deny that there was any wedding party.

The boy who was part of the marriage was also charged with child rape, but the district court acquits him and writes in the verdict that the children were in love and that intercourse between them did not constitute abuse of the girl.
