The Paris Criminal Court delivered its judgment on Monday concerning Jean-Marc Morandini.

The TV host was sentenced to one year in prison with a probationary sentence of two years.

He was prosecuted for "corruption of minors" on three teenagers between 2009 and 2016, during electronic exchanges and a casting at his home.

Alarmed by his “lack of awareness”, the prosecution had requested against the star host of CNews a year in prison suspended during the trial at the end of October.

At the helm, Jean-Marc Morandini, 57, recognized "recklessness but defended himself by invoking in particular a form of humor".

His lawyers had pleaded for release, castigating a file built on "very fluctuating statements" and parasitized by a supposed "media lynching".

Messages sent to two 15-year-olds

This PAF figure had to respond to messages sent to two 15-year-olds, in 2013 and 2015-2016, which consisted for one of evoking sexual scenarios and, for the second, of asking him to send a photo of stripped him.

“Mdr you are so naughty behind your wise air”, “do you have a hard-on?

“, he had thus written to Romuald (first name changed) in 2013 in private messages, embellished with emojis, on Twitter.

This teenager, who ended up withdrawing his complaint, was a fan of Jean-Marc Morandini and had met him on the set of his show on NRJ 12. At the helm, the host assured that he did not know his age and said he ceased "immediately" these exchanges when he was informed.

On the other hand, he knew the age of Simon (first name changed) whom he asked for several months, at the end of 2015, to send him a photo of his sex.

Came to testify at the bar, this young man challenged any trace of "humor" in these exchanges which he said he maintained because he "wanted to work in the media".

"It couldn't have happened like that"

Jean-Marc Morandini, who passed through Europe 1 in particular, had also appeared for having asked Clément (first name changed), 16, to undress and masturbate at his home in 2009 during an audition for a remake project of an American film, which never saw the light of day.

The plaintiff's lawyer, Me Francis Szpiner, denounced a casting in the form of a "trap", while Jean-Marc Morandini disputed the facts.

"It couldn't have happened like that," he said.

A second trial awaits Jean-marc Morandini in the coming months for the "sexual harassment" of an actor, an adult, as part of a casting for an erotic web-series.
