The customs officers who had their eyes on him got it right.
A 19-year-old young man, suspected of being a mule from Guyana, was arrested overnight from Friday to Saturday by customs in Morlaix (Finistère) before being taken into custody.
The radiological examinations carried out in the process confirmed that the suspect had indeed ingested several eggs containing cocaine, with 711 grams which were found.
During his hearings, the young man explained that he had arrived by Orly airport and that he had been taken care of as far as Rennes before other people transported him to Brest.
“He indicated that he had agreed to transport this drug against a promise of remuneration of 9,000 euros”, indicates Camille Miansoni, public prosecutor of Brest.
He will be tried in immediate appearance on Tuesday and faces a ten-year prison sentence.
