The first home defeat of the season took a back seat on Friday for RC Vannes.

Beaten by Mont-de-Marsan, the Morbihan rugby club also lost one of its most loyal supporters.

A 54-year-old woman died after becoming unwell while watching the Pro D2 match in the stands at La Rabine.

“We are deeply saddened to inform you of the death of Marie-Laure Crehim.

We send a message of support for the sadness of his disappearance to his family, loved ones and colleagues,” the club said on its website.

The victim died as a result of illness.

The intervention of the emergency services and an attempt at cardiac massage failed to resuscitate her.

According to RC Vannes, the victim was a loyal supporter who was present at all the matches.

She worked for the chip manufacturing company Bret's, a partner of the club for several years.

Engaged in the second division, RC Vannes is currently in the top 5 of the championship.
