Since the fish counter with camera came into place almost ten years ago, nearly 40,000 salmon and trout that passed by Hertingforsen in Falkenberg municipality have been caught on video.

This year, the page where the video clips of the fish are shown has had around 70,000 visitors.

But now the future is uncertain for the popular camera, which helped keep track of the fish stock in Ätran.

Falkenberg municipality wants to spend the 150,000 kroner a year that it costs to run it on other things.

Johan Bengtsson, board member of Nedre Ätran's fisheries management association, wants the camera to continue operating, despite the cost.

- There are many people who are interested in the fact that we have biological diversity and that we are aware of red-listed species, he says.
