The Asian Fitness Federation explained in the letter that the Hong Kong team had submitted the national anthem file to the competition when it arrived, but the technical team was composed of volunteers from different countries.

The technical team downloaded the national anthems of participating athletes from 29 countries or regions from the Internet to prepare for the competition, so as to prevent teams from not carrying the national anthem.

When the technical team processed multiple versions in the computer, they did not delete the incorrect files and opened them at the awards ceremony.

The letter continued that the technical team had reviewed the national anthem file afterwards, and the Asian Health Federation will ensure that similar incidents do not happen again.

Earlier, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government expressed its opposition and strong dissatisfaction with the incident, and affirmed Lian Weizhen's performance on the spot in safeguarding national dignity.

The Hong Kong police also stated that the song is closely related to the "black violence" and "Hong Kong independence" in 2019.
