“And in the long run, the Russian economy will only benefit from the sanctions.

Sometimes the difficulties caused by sanctions help countries develop their own economies,” the ambassador stressed.

In November, the European analytical center Bruegel and the Washington-based Institute of International Finance (IIF) announced the ineffectiveness of Western anti-Russian sanctions.

In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that gloomy forecasts for the Russian economy had not come true.
