At Kangqiao School in Xinzhan High-tech Zone, Hefei, Yuan Xianghan from Taiwan is teaching English to students. He has been working in education since he came to the mainland in 2017.

Over the past five years, he has taught nearly 300 students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Yuan Xianghan, 34, graduated from Ming Chuan University in Taiwan, majoring in Applied Language and Literature and minoring in English.

Passionate about education, he went to mainland China to work after graduation.

He chose Hefei because on the one hand, many Taiwanese compatriots work and live here; on the other hand, he visited Hefei during his studies. It is not only the hometown of Liu Mingchuan, the first governor of Taiwan, but also the hometown of Bao Gong.

"Hefei is developing rapidly, and the entire city has undergone earth-shaking changes, which has strengthened my confidence in developing here." Yuan Xianghan said.

Yuan Xianghan believes that education is not only to teach children knowledge, but also to tell them how to behave.

"I like interacting with children very much. I will tell them how to express and show themselves, and at the same time tell them what behavior is right and what is wrong." Yuan Xianghan said, every time he sees children in his Continuous progress and growth under education give me a sense of accomplishment.

Yuan Xianghan's attentive education has also been recognized by parents. Although some students have entered or graduated, the parents of the students will still contact him to exchange their children's learning situation. Yuan Xianghan will always care about and encourage the students and give them more confidence.

Yuan Xianghan said that every time he sees those volunteer teachers who go to remote areas to teach, he is particularly moved.

In the future, he hopes to have the opportunity to go to some areas with weak educational resources to help and educate more "flowers" of the motherland.

According to Chen Weiru, the teaching director of Kangqiao Primary School in Hefei Xinzhan High-tech Zone, Hefei Xinzhan High-tech Industrial Development Zone is the first national-level "Cross-Strait Youth Entrepreneurship Base" in Anhui, and it is also the area where the "Cross-Strait Integrated Circuit Industry Cooperation Experimental Zone" is located. one.

Up to now, there are more than 500 Taiwanese young talents working and living here in this district, and there are more than 100 Taiwanese children in Hefei Cambridge School.

Chen Weiru, also from Taiwan, has been in Hefei for three years.

She told the reporter that there are more and more Taiwan compatriots working in Hefei, and the vast majority of them live in Hefei. Education is one of the focuses of Taiwan compatriots.

Now that the children live in Kangqiao, they can not only get in touch with their hometown in Taiwan, but also live well in Hefei.

"The school often organizes children to participate in various cultural activities, including children's calligraphy and painting exhibitions on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, intangible cultural heritage experience activities, etc., to understand and inherit Chinese traditional culture through exchanges and interactions between children and children on both sides of the Taiwan Strait." Chen Weiru said.

The reporter learned from the Anhui Provincial Department of Education that in recent years, exchanges and cooperation in the field of education between Anhui and Taiwan have continued to expand, and nearly 30 colleges and universities have established inter-school cooperative relations with more than 40 colleges and universities in Taiwan.

The interaction between teachers and students has become more active, and a number of brand projects of Anhui-Taiwan educational exchanges have been formed, such as the Anhui-Taiwan Internet of Things Seminar and the Anhui-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum.

In the future, Anhui will deepen "cloud" and offline exchanges with Taiwanese universities, and further promote Anhui-Taiwan cooperation in education and technology.

According to statistics from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People's Government of Anhui Province, up to now, Anhui has 19 Taiwan-related parks, such as cross-strait youth entrepreneurship bases and Taiwan industrial parks, and more than 3,000 Taiwanese businessmen and youths have started businesses and employed in Anhui.
