During the 2021/2022 hunting year, the shooting of wild boar in the country decreased by 41,000 animals from the previous record year when 161,000 of the animals were shot.

According to the Hunters' Association, there are many indications that the size of the tribe has decreased nationally and that this is to some extent due to the previous high shooting but also due to efforts from landowners.
