An “emergency session” in the German Parliament on the dangers of the “ghost”

A press report revealed that there is a state of dissatisfaction among members of the budget committee of the German parliament, the Bundestag, due to the possibility of facing risks when the planned purchase of F-35 stealth fighters.

And according to the report of the German weekly newspaper "Bild am Sonntag", in its issue issued today, that an "emergency session" is scheduled to be held, including the members of the committee concerned in the matter, tomorrow, Monday.

The newspaper pointed out that this comes against the background of a confidential document in which the German Ministry of Defense warns of the major risks of this deal.

The newspaper added that it is not clear whether the German army will acquire the airport in Büchel, Rhineland-Palatinate, modified for these fighters in time until 2026 or not.

"Therefore, time delays and additional costs until the start of the flight process cannot be ruled out," the newspaper quoted the document as saying.

There is also a risk that the issuance of the national aviation permit will not be available in a timely manner, the newspaper added.

It is noteworthy that the federal government announced its intention to supply the Air Force with F-35 stealth aircraft, produced by the American company, Lockheed Martin, which is the latest fighter in the world.

These fighters are to be purchased to replace the Tornado fleet that was introduced more than 40 years ago.
