A 15-year-old boy was taken into police custody on Sunday in Sarcelles (Val-d'Oise), suspected of being involved in the attack on Friday of a schoolboy who was stabbed in the abdomen, a learned AFP from the Pontoise prosecutor's office.

The day before, a 14-year-old minor, suspected of being the author of the stabbing, had also been arrested by the police officers of the Sarcelles police station, in charge of the investigation for "attempted intentional homicide".

His police custody has been extended, the prosecution said.

The motive for the attack remains unknown at this time.

The victim still hospitalized

Around 5:30 p.m. Friday, leaving his establishment, a 13-year-old schoolboy was stabbed in the abdomen, said a police source.

Conscious, he was transported to Necker hospital in Paris, added this source.

He has since been hospitalized, without vital prognosis, the prosecution told AFP on Saturday.

A 4th grader, he arrived at the college shortly after the start of the school year, after being the victim of an assault in his previous establishment, according to a source close to the investigation.

The 14-year-old teenager arrested on Saturday, a former student of the college in front of which the tragedy took place, had been excluded for acts of violence, added this source.

The motive for the attack is still not known.

According to the first elements of the investigation, he had arrived accompanied by at least two people.

“The perpetrators fled when a sports teacher arrived at the scene of the attack, the motive of which was unknown yesterday,” said another police source.

In the past two weeks, two teenagers have been killed in fights between rival gangs in the 17th arrondissement of Paris and in Coignières (Yvelines).
