A Senegalese deputy slapped his colleague, yesterday, Thursday, after a heated discussion between them that had started because of previous statements by the deputy, Amy Ndiaye, in a previous session on November 27, according to footage that was widely circulated in the digital space.

According to the scenes circulated from inside the Senegalese parliament, the discussion between them led to a fierce quarrel, which prompted the deputy, Massata Sambe, from the opposition, to go towards his colleague, Amy Ndiaye, in the pro-government, and slapped her in the face, before the latter responded by hitting him with a chair.

The footage documented the situation evolving into a group fight, and chairs and hands were thrown at each other, before the deputies intervened to calm the situation and suspend the session.

According to foreign media, the session was devoted to voting on the budget of the Ministry of Justice.

These clips angered the activists on the communication platforms, as they denounced the insult that had taken place, and the attack on the deputy in this way.

While the Feminists Gathering in Senegal demanded that the deputy be held accountable.

For her part, journalist Osama Monique said, on her Twitter account, "A Senegalese deputy is being beaten in front of the Minister of Justice, a disgrace to the legislative body representing the political coalitions."

While the blogger, Servih Adjenko, commented on his Twitter account, saying, "Why do some savage men not respect women??? Women are life, women are society. Treating women badly is treating human life badly."
