The Dubai Police marine rescue teams rescued three Indian men who drowned while swimming the day before yesterday in a restricted area in front of the open beach in Jumeirah. Two of them died, while the rescue teams succeeded in reaching the third alive and providing first aid to him.

In detail, the director of the Ports Police Station, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al-Mazyoud, said that the first suffered minor injuries, and the second died two hours after he was transferred to Rashid Hospital, while the third was found dead by rescue teams, a full day after he drowned.

Al-Mazyoud added that the incident occurred the afternoon of the day before yesterday, when three people of Asian nationality deliberately crossed the area in which swimming is permitted on Jumeirah Beach, despite the raising of the red flag indicating the prohibition of swimming in this area, and the high waves to a large degree.

He added that the rescuer on the beach noticed their delinquency far from the safety zone, near the Burj Al Arab Hotel, so he tried to warn them, but they continued to swim in the depth, indifferent to the warnings he gave them, so he caught up with them using a rescue boat, but the high waves pulled them away from the area.

Al-Mazyoud added that the rescue operations lasted for several hours, during which they succeeded in saving one of them and recovering the body of another, while the search for the third continued, but the difficulty of seeing and the high waves prevented the success of the efforts made to find him, since the day before yesterday, until yesterday evening, when he was seen. His body was around 4:30 in the afternoon, in an area close to the area where he disappeared.

In addition, Al-Mazyoud revealed that a child was rescued from drowning in the open beach area, pointing out that hundreds of seafarers ignored, yesterday, the repeated warnings and red indicative signs that were raised on the beach to emphasize the danger of swimming, and they went down to the sea, exposing their lives to danger.

He stressed that it is remarkable that the parents ignored the seriousness of the situation, allowed their children to go down to the sea, and did not adhere to the instructions set by the specialized rescue teams, who have great knowledge of these areas, and the most appropriate places and times for swimming, considering the behavior of the three friends as a kind of suicide.
