“We are creating a fully automated greenhouse for an apartment, which is designed to facilitate the process of growing crops and minimize the use of manual labor.

The design includes microcontrollers and sensors to control the microclimate and implement automatic operation,” said the project leader, third-year student Violetta Lychagina.

It is noted that the team has already developed a model of the greenhouse, which performs part of the functions, and in the near future students will present a prototype of the product and conduct research that will accelerate the germination and development of plants.

According to Lychagina, the main users of the mini-greenhouse will be residents of the northern regions of Russia, who would like to have fresh herbs and vegetables on their table all year round.

“This problem is acute, for example, beyond the Arctic Circle, where sometimes there is no possibility at all to get greens for food.

Also, our greenhouse is suitable for any person who would like to grow environmentally friendly products himself and spend a minimum of time on this, ”the RT interlocutor added.

As the developers explained, automated mini-greenhouses are already being sold abroad, it is still difficult to buy such a greenhouse in Russia, so the decision of Russian students will be in demand among wide consumer groups.

The initial cost of the greenhouse will be 40 thousand rubles, but the team plans to reduce the cost by using domestic components.

According to forecasts, sales will start in 2024.

The team is working on a project on the Technosphere acceleration program launched at the Tambov State Technical University as part of the federal project "University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform".

Earlier it became known that in Russia they developed a universal method for cleaning recognition systems in unmanned vehicles.
